Fred is 27 years old and was born into a coffee farming family with 2 children. He has been managing the coffee farm with his family since 2017. Fred's mother, Hanna Asrat, won the 8th place in the National Winner in 2021, with a cup test score of 86.79. During the preparation process of that year, Fred and his mother worked together to improve coffee planting and harvesting methods. In the following year, 2022 , he participated in the COE with his own name, and won the 24th place, with a cup test score of 87.92, which is a great affirmation for Fred and the whole family!

In particular, Fred said that he did not regard COE as a competition, but that Allah answered his prayers in another way, like a Japanese craftsman, doing the things in front of him without distraction. When we further asked about Fred's next plan, he said very pragmatically that he hoped to improve the quality of coffee, expand coffee processing equipment, and purchase coffee brewing equipment. He currently runs his own coffee company with his own storage space.
